Band Biography

ACC were formed when Jak (vocals) decided to start a band. As he was already acquainted with people who played instruments and were into the same music as him, he knew that it wouldn’t take long to form what is now ACC. Chris (guitars) was the first to join, followed shortly by Tom (guitarist). With two guitarists on board, ACC were slowly but surely starting to take shape. Chris recruited Nix (bassist) knowing of her skills on bass, while Jak discovered co-vocalist Al. Al was soon roped in and so there was only the role of drummer left to fill. After much searching but no luck, what was then ACC decided to book in at Sam Sharpe's studio for their first practice - whilst there, Raj tried out on a trial basis for a few sessions before becoming the band's permament drummer. At last, A Clear Conscience were complete - the final line-up was decided at the end of August 2005. In April 2006, co-vocalist Al left the band, however this did not deter the remaining members of ACC from continuing on with the band. Jak assumed the role of main vocalist, with Chris adopting a role of backing vocals. In June 2006 they recorded their debut EP, 'The Haunting Begins', which never came to be released. Towards the end of the year, their debut EP-proper, which was self-titled was released and can now be purchased for £3 from this website and at one of the live shows.

At the beginning of 2007, with nearly a year's worth of gigging behind them, guitarist Chris parted ways with the band. Tom took on the role of backing vocals and after a lapse of a few weeks, ACC quickly found a replacement for Chris in the form of Mike, who was more than happy to fill the void and bring his own flair to the band's sound. Now, as February draws to a close, ACC look towards broadening their horizons - plans for new recordings are being formulated, and the hopes of taking their live performance to new locations around the UK are beginning to be realised.
